Creating Spaces Where Everyone Belongs.
People with disabilities and allies—experience coffee, CommUNITY, and lifelong learning at B3.
Being, Belonging & Becoming.
B3 is a nonprofit that brings people with and without disabilities together through social, educational, and vocational programs. We create spaces of belonging that advance disability justice, allyship, and inclusion.
What Our Community Says.
The disability allyship trainings offered by B3 were eye-opening and examined topics I have never heard about before. Discussions about topics such as ableism have helped me reflect on my own bias while also allowing me the opportunity to learn and make changes.

A great group and a fabulous [life skills] program. Thanks to all instructors for the thoughtful curriculum, kind support, role plays, activities, and advocacy language!
– B3 care partner, Kim
Because of B3, our loved ones are more visible, more appreciated, and most importantly, less isolated and living better lives. How do I express how much that means as a mother?
– B3 Care Partner, Denise
I finally feel like I have a place to be myself”
– B3 member, Adele
I’ve gained valuable allyship skills to better support the disabled community, learning to foster inclusivity and collaborate for meaningful social change.
– B3 member, Grace
B3 has given me a voice. B3 has given me the career I want to follow, public speaking. B3 has prepared me for any job, including a coffee shop. B3 has given me a community where people care about each other. B3 has given me transportation and cooking skills. I am so grateful.”

CommUNITY in Action
Tonight, B3 was named the recipient of the distinguished service award from @triangledas. Of course, we had to bring along our ⭐️ networker, Joey to accept the award💼 It’s an honor to be recognized by a peer organization for our innovative approaches to advancing disability justice, allyship, and inclusion. Congratulations to the whole B3 CommUnity— it takes a village! ✨

Today in Navigating Our Community ✨
From research to real-world practice—our participants dove into interview skills today! They explored jobs that sparked their interest, did their homework, and then hit the community to put it all into action.
From stepping into local businesses to asking questions and making connections, they showed up with confidence and curiosity—and even sparked a few new friendships along the way 🤝

In today’s Arts EMPOWER class, B3 members explored the concept of interdependence. We had a blast revisiting the High School Musical “We’re All in This Together” scene and putting our teamwork to the test with a bridge-building challenge. We wrapped up by learning the art of jewelry making and beading 🙌

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, we’re grateful for the opportunity to screen @nc_ddcouncil’s film UNMET, which shines a light on the disability care worker shortage in North Carolina.
We also heard from an incredible panel of neurodivergent adults and care partners who shared powerful perspectives on building a more inclusive and just world for Autistic and neurodivergent people.
Amid these systemic challenges, B3 is working to reimagine what care and authentic community can look like for people of all abilities. Consider making a donation in honor of an Autistic or neurodivergent person in your life ♾️🌈 https://b3nc.org/donate/
