Life Skills Programs

Being, Belonging & Becoming.

B3 is a nonprofit that brings people with and without disabilities together through social, educational, and vocational programs. We create spaces of belonging that advance disability justice, allyship, and inclusion.

What Our Community Says.

The disability allyship trainings offered by B3 were eye-opening and examined topics I have never heard about before. Discussions about topics such as ableism have helped me reflect on my own bias while also allowing me the opportunity to learn and make changes.

A great group and a fabulous [life skills] program. Thanks to all instructors for the thoughtful curriculum, kind support, role plays, activities, and advocacy language!

– B3 care partner, Kim

Because of B3, our loved ones are more visible, more appreciated, and most importantly, less isolated and living better lives. How do I express how much that means as a mother?

– B3 Care Partner, Denise

I finally feel like I have a place to be myself”

– B3 member, Adele

I’ve gained valuable allyship skills to better support the disabled community, learning to foster inclusivity and collaborate for meaningful social change.

– B3 member, Grace

B3 has given me a voice. B3 has given me the career I want to follow, public speaking. B3 has prepared me for any job, including a coffee shop. B3 has given me a community where people care about each other. B3 has given me transportation and cooking skills. I am so grateful.”

CommUNITY in Action

Our hearts are always full on clubhouse days ❤️

Another brilliant invention by @dukeengineering ✨
In collaboration with B3 staff and members, students designed custom “clips” that make measuring milk more accessible and accurate.

How it works:
Previously, B3 interns had difficulty seeing the engraved measurement lines inside the pitcher due to low contrast and visibility. Now, users simply pour until the milk appears through the hex-pattern window—clear, intuitive, and reliable.

Design requirements:
• Food-safe, heat-resistant material
• Easy to remove for cleaning
• Rinses with the pitcher
• Time-efficient (no added steps to drink prep)
•Different measurement lines for hot drinks (the red clips) and iced drinks (the blue clips)

The result?
A thoughtfully 3D-printed solution that reflects B3’s commitment to #UniversalDesign and #AccessibilityForAll ♿️
2025 was just the start! B3’s Clubhouse pilot is leading the way to a brighter future, built on belonging, inter-dependence, and opportunities for all. We’re excited to expand and increase our impact in 2026. Thanks to the B3 CommUNITY and supporters for a transformative year of advancing disability justice, allyship, and inclusion 🫶
There will be a time when you learn
what it feels like to go where you want to go,
and where you need to go,
together.
This video shows B3’s Navigating Our CommUNITY participants leading the way, using tools and skills we build side by side to move through our town with confidence and purpose.
On Friday, our group chose the route.
Sutton’s “old-school pharmacy”.
Rally House for holiday gifts and cheer.
Epilogue to read and explore books together.
Sup Dogs for lunch and connection.
Disability-led. Community-run. Real life.
And to top it off, the snow was glimmering. ❄️✨

For the last session of B3’s Fall “Chill Time” Life Skills program, members were given several objects and tasked with coming up with a fun activity or game, which then turned into a relay. We were so impressed with everyone’s creativity— sometimes finding new hobbies just takes a little thinking outside the box!
