Membership opportunities may include helping with our pop-up coffee stands, joining online or in-person social meetups, or participating in B3 programs. Whether you identify as disabled, neurodivergent, or as an ally, you’re invited to experience belonging as a member of B3.There is no cost or formal commitment to become a member — we believe in building community as organically as possible.

At B3, we embrace a “no hierarchy” model between people with and without disabilities. People with disabilities hold leadership roles at every level of the organization. We believe in doing with, not for, the disability community — working together in pursuit of true equity and inclusion.

B3 collaborates with many other partners not pictured, such as Habitat for Humanity Orange County, Extraordinary Ventures, We Will Walk with You, and HOPE NC.

University Partners:

B3 partners with local University departments, serving as a fieldwork site for pre-human service professionals (UNC School of Social Work, Duke OTD, UNC OT, UNC School of Education)

Chapel Hill Public Library (CHPL):

B3’s Coffee Kiosk is located within the lobby of CHPL. We also collaborate with the CHPL on a variety of disability inclusion initiatives, such as our co-hosted Books & Belonging monthly meet up group and the library’s Neurodiversity & Nature initiative.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church:

Many of B3’s life skills programs and social events occur at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church– conveniently located within walking distance to UNC Chapel Hill’s campus and Downtown Chapel Hill.

Inclusive Employers:

B3 has developed a strong network of employer partners to support job candidate referrals from our transitional employment model, including local employers such as Gray Squirrel and The Purple Bowl. Gray Squirrel also happens to be our coffee roaster!

Chapel Hill Transit:

B3 is fortunate to be located in an area with free public transit, in addition to a paratransit option for qualifying individuals (EZ Rider). We frequently utilize Chapel Hill Transit within our life skills programs and broader efforts to facilitate members’ community participation.
